xAI brings Grok Voice to LiveKit: STT, Grok 4.3, and TTS in one ZDR AgentSession
SpaceXAI said Grok Voice models can now be used in LiveKit to build voice agents with full zero-data-retention support. LiveKit showed a patient-intake agent that cascades Grok STT, Grok 4.3, and Grok TTS through LiveKit Inference in a single AgentSession, with one set of credentials and billing. For developers, that is a three-string voice stack instead of a glued-together ASR, LLM, and TTS bill.

Hume Launches Audio Decision API: Ask Plain-Language Questions of Raw Audio in One Call, 70.7% Agreement With a Human Panel per Hume
On November 2 voice AI company Hume launched the Audio Decision API, which it calls the first audio-native model that answers questions about speech and sound. Developers upload raw audio, write each question as a sentence with candidate answers, and get back a probability for each answer, with no transcription step. It supports yes/no, multiple-choice, rating-scale and time-span questions, such as how many speakers there are, whether someone laughs, whether a caller sounds frustrated, or whether a siren is in the background. Per Hume, it was trained on more than 10 million human judgments and in an initial evaluation reached 70.7% agreement with a human panel's average judgment, versus 56.5% for an individual rater. Access is currently by request or waitlist.

xAI will add an invisible watermark to Grok API text by default from Nov 7, covering grok-4.7 and six other models, with per-model admin opt-out
On Oct 31, xAI (signed as SpaceXSI in its docs) added an "Output Watermarking" page to its API docs: starting November 7, 2026, text generated by grok-4.7, grok-4.6, grok-4.5, grok-4.3, and the reasoning, non-reasoning, and multi-agent versions of grok-4.20 will carry an invisible watermark by default, to comply with the EU AI Act. It covers ordinary text, structured outputs, and tool call arguments on both the Responses and Chat Completions APIs, and works by slightly shaping token choice without adding any characters. Developers can read the x-watermark response header to check; team admins can opt out per model in the Console, but must confirm a legal exception applies, and some models may be locked on.
